The KINEZIS Association has successfully implemented the project “School Sports – Sports for All”, designed to promote the importance of school sports and encourage children to develop a healthy and active lifestyle within educational institutions in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. The project was co-financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science.
Through practical activities, the project included four primary schools in Mostar: Cim Primary School, Bartol Kašić Primary School – Rodoč, Ivan Gundulić Primary School, and “Mustafa Ejubović – Šejh Jujo” Primary School. Students and teachers from these schools were introduced to the program marking the European School Sport Day, the largest European event dedicated to promoting school sports, and actively participated in its activities.
In addition, in coordination with the teachers, sports equipment was provided to the schools to improve the quality of Physical and Health Education classes and to enable more effective engagement in sports activities.
The president of the KINEZIS Association, Prof. Dr. Franjo Lovrić, emphasized the importance of joint efforts by all stakeholders in promoting sports, and particularly highlighted the positive example set by the Mostar City Sports Association in organizing school sports competitions as a shining example of the development of school sports.
Sports during childhood and adolescence play a crucial role in children’s development – strengthening physical and mental health, reducing stress, boosting self-confidence, and developing social skills. By participating in sports, children learn teamwork, communication, respect for rules, and fair play, shaping them into responsible and active members of society.
The “School Sports – Sports for All” project has demonstrated that through the joint efforts of schools, teachers, and the local community, with the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, better conditions can be ensured for healthy development, an active childhood, and a lifelong love of sports.
